Faery and Crossroads Magic with Three Tall Sticks

Many people think of the Faery Tradition as being a mixture of folkloric customs and beliefs, handed down from ancestral culture. While this is true, there are also magical arts hidden and implied within the folkloric traditions. One of these practical and powerful methods of Faery Ritual Magic is The Magic of Three Sticks.

This is a unique development taught only by RJ Stewart: he has included this in his Faery Ritual Magic workshop series since the early 1990's. Usually the method is taught with three small sticks that can be kept hidden in your pocket, purse, or medicine bag. But it can also be done with three tall sticks, or even three large poles that are planted in the ground. At Fairy Congress this year we will be doing the Tall Sticks version, which has not been taught in Washington State before!

We will work to empower the Three Sticks, with the spiritual directions Human, Faery, and Living Creature. This is done through a unique and powerful ceremony mediated during the workshop. You will also learn how to do this fully contacted ceremony yourself, for ongoing work with the spirit mentors and allies of this faery ritual magic tradition. Bring three natural and fairly straight sticks/branches/poles of your own height or taller. No matter how big, as long you can carry them easily.

Half-day workshop on Monday:
Experiencing the Second Sight (SOLD OUT as of June 3)

The Second Sight is transferred by laying-on of hands, in a traditional ceremony known in various forms in Scotland, Ireland, and Scandinavia. RJ will share this ancient tradition with us, and you can choose to have your Second Sight activated or enhanced in the traditional manner. You can also attend the workshop if you do not choose to have your Second Sight activated, but want to learn about the tradition. RJ Stewart has been teaching this class since 1988, when he first taught it in Britain and this is the first time at the Fairy Congress.

All are welcome. You must be over 18 to attend this workshop: no exceptions!

Saturday night concert

Come and join RJ and Anastacia Nutt in the Lodge, for an intimate indoor acoustic concert of ancient and modern magical songs, with instrumental music on guitar, flute, and psaltery. Anastacia trained as a classical musician on piano, saxophone and oboe, and sings a wide range of music from sacred chant to country blues. RJ Stewart has written music for film, television, and theater, and made many recordings. The concert will include new songs, some hilarious, some hard-hitting, traditional songs and ancient magical ballads, and exquisite instrumental music on the 73 stringed concert psaltery.

We receive treasures of insights and energy from the faery realms and from subtle worlds in general. But what do they receive from us? What human “gold” can become treasure for inner beings? In this second part of David’s exploration of our relationship and partnering with the subtle worlds, he focuses on the gifts we can bring and the ways in which we can assist the faery kingdoms and others in fostering wholeness in our world.

Since 1964 David Spangler has been an author and teacher of spirituality and practical mysticism. In 1970 he visited Findhorn in Northern Scotland where he was invited to become its co-director and to be a teacher-in-residence. He lived and worked in the community until 1973, becoming the founder of its educational program.

In the years following his return from Scotland, David has developed and taught classes at a number of institutions, including the University of Wisconsin, Seattle University, Bastyr University, and the California Institute of Integral Studies.

His current work involves developing and teaching a spiritual practice called Incarnational Spirituality. Tapping the Sacred Ink Well:
Creating Poetry as Communion with the Fey

What inspires your most deeply spiritual and emotional expression to the Faeries and other inhabitants of the invisible realms? In this workshop you will explore this sacred communication through the writing of original poetry that springs from your own unique sensitivity to transmissions from the subtle world. You will be using imagery and numerology from divinatory oracles as well as other arcane sources for inspiration and as keys to unlock the wisdom and feeling that flows from unseen origins. Learn how to trust the laws of synchronicity and the constraint of classical poetic forms to carry you into the communication streams of the Fey. Experienced poets will become more intimate with their own talents as well as find new places to find blessed inspiration for sublime collaboration. Those of you who have never written poetry will discover that you really do have the capacity within you to create astonishingly beautiful works and will be welcomed into the world of the poet and the bard. You do not need divinatory or writing experience to attend this workshop. There will be plenty of visual resources provided to choose from. By the end of this workshop, you will have written 1 or 2 (or more) sacred poems in verse as offerings or as sacred communications to the unseen world.

Eurythmy with the Elements

Awake early and participate in calling in the elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water with Kirsten Sogge, Eurythmist. We will move together, awaking and awakening the elements with us. Kirsten Sogge was raised in Alaska by a wild and unconventional English gardener and an engineer. Every one of us brings our Divine Essence to the congress and every one of us brings our spiritual allies. Every one of our presenters and every other single person brings something valuable to share. It is wonderful that we have well-known presenters who are among the world's leaders on fairy-related matters such as RJ Stewart. But every one of our other presenters also has incredible things to share. And every single person and every child has things to share.

The congress is like an incredible symphony and each person is an integral part of the whole. We do make beautiful music together! The fairies, devas and other beings who attend all add to this grand symphony.

Knowledge, wisdom and friendship are available everywhere throughout the congress; in the kitchen, during the meals, in the parking lot, at the crafts booth, in the childen's area, etc. Not just at the formal workshops and not just by sitting at the feet of the more famous presenters. Everyone who attends deserves our love and respect. We are all co-creators at the event.

The Fairy & Human Relations Congress offers a wide diversity of workshops and presenters for several reasons. It is more likely that everyone can find something they are excited about attending in each workshop session. A wider amount of knowledge and insights are spoken about and offered to our community as a whole. Each individual can only attend so much, but as a whole, there is more knowledge shared by having more presenters. If you are having a problem choosing between presenters, use your heart to determine which workshop will be best suited for your spiritual growth at this particular time. Be in the now.

Consider the viewpoint that the more illuminated beings you get together in one place, the better off everyone is;
1) each one of us individually benefits from the energy field that we set up,
2) and we can do more good for the planet as a whole. When we do our circles, ceremonies and meditations, our united energies help the greater world.
